I haven't posted in three months, sorry. I must admit that nothing's changed. I'm still mad as heck about what the government is doing-- the entire government, not just the President or the Democrats, but the entire government "Republicans" and all.

I love Glenn Beck an so obviously I have read "Common Sense". If you read Glenn's and Thomas Paine's, they look strikingly similar. We are in a revolution, not a violent war, but a revolution of thought, just like the American Revolution. We as the People, the People of self-government, the People that give the people in government their power, the People who uphold this Republic, have lost that. We are giving away our liberty like the house on Halloween who wants to be cool and not get egged.

Whether we agree with the Government or not, whether we voted these people in or not, they are taking from us as they take from the suckers who do agree with the government and who did vote in these people. We all suffer.

What we need to do as good Americans is throw out the Parties, President Washington didn't want them anyway. We need to stick to our beliefs, regardless of the fallout (believe me, I have a whole softball team that heckles me now, I know fallout). If they want to take our liberties, they can try to pry them from my cold, dead hands. Thank you Charlton Heston.

We need to know our history, read what the Revolution was like. Read who our Founding Fathers were. To be good citizens, we need to be educated citizens. Thank you President Thomas Jefferson.

We need to be the people our ancestors were. The ones that knew what it meant to live in a free country because they didn't grow up in one. The ones that never let the government tell them what to do. It works for us, not the other way around. The ones that said what they believed and believed what they said.

We need to be the people we want our children to be. We need to be the people our children will be proud of. We need to be the people that if we died right now, we'd have no regrets, we'd have died with dignity and honor. We need to have honor again.

We need to be the Best Generation of Americans. The ones that not only defeat an enemy without our land , but also the enemy within, the one that pretended to our friend, pretended to be our voice. Live your life according to your Bible-- whether it is the Bible or the example set by those that preceded us. Be what you admire, desire, believe. No one can disrespect a man who lives by his word.

As a realist, regardless of who said what Pelosi said, don't you think it is really, really stupid to say the CIA lied to you? Accusing the CIA of something they most likely didn't do is not a good way to keep living as normally as possible. I can't believe she would say that to keep face with the press-- oh, yes I can.

She can't admit that she knew about water-boarding in 2002 because then her followers would ask why she didn't say anything about it until a few years ago. In reality, she might have had a chance of reelection for the admittance of her honesty of knowing and keeping her mouth shut in a Post- 9/11 world. Remember the way things were in 2002, she would never have been reelected that year if she came out against the torture of terrorists.

She is an idiot for saying the CIA lied to her. In the last year, Pelosi has been ripped for having private jet rides for government visits, for saying the Pope is inconsistent with his stance on abortion (he got her good, too), and for so many other things in all this TARP business. Maybe keeping her mouth shut would be a good way to get reelected again.

Cola Wars

I am too young to remember the real Cola Wars, but I learned there was a different one yesterday. Apparently Coca-Cola is all that is served at the Democratic National Convention. I like Coke, but I guess I have to switch to Pepsi so I don't drink a socialist potion of indoctrination. Here's what perplexes me:

Coke cans are red and Pepsi cans are blue. Red is Republican and Blue is Democrat and yet the opposite is true for softdrinks. Should they change the color of their cans to correspond to the majority of their drinkers? I don't know, I just have to drink Coke less often now. Pepsi still doesn't as good to me though.

I love phrases with multiple meanings. I am fed up with the Federal Government. They are out of control with our money, not to mention my grandchildren's money. Congress does what it pleases and complains when real questions are asked of them (Barney Frank, President Obama). I like that kid who questioned Barney Frank; that took guts, asking serious question to him. He was so flustered, he never actually answered how responsible he was for the economic mess we're in.

Obama has some nerve saying we're arrogant. In France! How dare you. America has protected Europe since World War I, we pay for the great majority of the UN's budget, we were the economic stability of the world before we changed to the debt standard (from the gold standard, starting to like William Jennings Bryan right now?), we are the symbol of freedom in the world. If anything we're just proud. Americans have a lot to be proud of and I cannot believe the President thinks it is fine to call us arrogant, and not even to our faces in America.

I think many can agree with this statement: I am fed up with the government and the world hating us at the same time they are takig our funding. We can't afford it and if you don't like us, don't take the money, or the troops, or the support. We'll leave you alone, we'll be isolated again. Last time that happened, Europe was taken over by a fascist dictator; I don't believe they want that again. Also, take some control of your government. We are trying because we are sick of this spending from both sides. Socialism is wrong and it has never worked. Not only that, it is lazy. "Let the government take care of the problems" is the wrong attitude for anyone especially Americans to take in the world. America was founded on a government for the people, by the people, and of the people. Let us not disappoint all those men and women who fought to make this wonderful nation a reality.

I'm sure many of you have heard of these Tax Day Tea Parties arund the country. I am interested in this. I know why we had the Boston Tea Party, but I don't quite understand the impact this one would have. Could someone explain to me and those who are unfamilar with this what it will do?

There are lots of places to go to be prepared for April 15, like www.AmericanSolutions.com/TeaParty or Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, but I still can't figure out how this will get Congress to open their eyes. I know we are angry, a great majority of Americans, and we want to be like our forefathers and demonstrate this in a very open and blunt way. Whoever can tell us, please do so. I'm sure this is extremely important, and we need to be informed to be good citizens.

It seems like the world is falling apart around us lately. It has in the past and this may be another one of those moments in history where no one knows how an event occurred. We have the Economy in shambles; the "fixes" aren't helping and won't help; socialist programs are being enacted (or will be very soon if the President gets what he wants) in the United States not 20 years after the Soviet Union fell; Cuba may begin relations with the U.S. again; things we have grown accustomed to inthe last eight years such as speaking out against policies are disappearing (Wal-mart refuses to sell anti-Barack Obama paraphrenalia) not to mention some free speech; half the cabinet was appointed- not approved by Congress (the czars and such); Europe is falling worse than America; and the list goes on. These things are bad, but we shouldn't let them get to us.

We have to remember what we have and no government, no policy can take away from us in America. We have our family; our faith, how and whether we choose to practice it; our friends; our beliefs; an unbelievable support around the country from others like ourselves; our memories of times when life was better; trying to bring prosperity back to America and dare I say wake up to "Morning in America"; we have all we need to be content and secure during these four years of Preisdent Obama and hopefully one more year of this Congress. Use these tools, don't let them go. Tell those like you that they are needed are we can stay strong and rebuild. We have what it takes; let's regroup and get back out there with our enthusiasm and optimism!

Remember it as been worse before and it has been better before. We can make it better than it has ever been. We just need to stick together and our beliefs.

This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception. I have been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be legal.

As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be quiet, but clear.

Here is what I would like you to do: Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores.

Bristol Palin said this in an interview with Greta van Susteren. It does not matter who said it, or where it was said; that is a lie.

It is not hard to be abstinent. Temptations should be fought and if you stick to your beliefs, it makes the battle that much easier. I think this statement was said because society tells our teenagers that is is okay to be this way. Those teen shows make it look normal for every student to be this way.

I am abstinent. Christian values call for temperance and chastity. A saying goes: Without the ring, it is a sin". Those feelings should only be saved for a husband or a wife. Otherwise you are committing lust and that is one of the seven deadly sins.

My advice to those who think abstinence is unrealistic: God will send you that one person whom you are to marry. Patience is the most important thing and don't lose faith. He is always looking out for you, though it will take longer than you would prefer. Faith, Hope, and Love are essential here. Have faith in the Lord that your hopes of real love will be fulfilled.

Future of America in College

I read this story on my FOXNews ticker. We imagined what happened to this student could happen to us if we spoke our mind in class. Well, it did happen in Los Angeles City College.

Jonathan Lopez spoke in his class opposing same-sex marriage (Prop 8 in California). His professor put a stop to this "deeply [offensive]" commentary and called the student a "fascist".

I had a friend in high school named Nallely Manriquez. Her family was from Mexico and her parents got their Green Cards. She was deeply conservative like Mr. Lopez. I do not know if his family recently emigrated to America from Mexico, but I do know that all descendants of Immigrants know they have a better life in America. Look at you ancestry; how were those countries at that time when they emigrated compared to America?

Even if they were the poorest Irishmen during the 17th century being persecuted for being Papists, the colonies were better. If you were German, America was not still run by dukes, they were not emboriled in religious wars like Europe was. America was (and still is) the Land of Opportunity when immigrants come the right way.

Unless of course, you are a college student who happens to be conservative. I never thought those things would ever be said to that person's face. Jonathan Lopez, he is he poster-child for an outspoken Conservative, not only in an inherently liberal state, but also the inherently liberal college system. We stand by you Jonathan!

Yesterday, the Senate began debate on an economic stimulus package that is intended to get our economy back on track and help Americans who are suffering through these difficult times. Unfortunately, the proposal on the table is big on the giveaways for the special interests and corporate high rollers, yet short on help for ordinary working Americans. I cannot and do not support the package on the table from the Democrats and the Obama Administration. Our country does not need just another spending bill, particularly not one that will load future generations with the burden of massive debt. We need a short term stimulus bill that will directly help people, create jobs, and provide a jolt to our economy.
I believe we need to evaluate every bit of spending in this stimulus proposal with one important criteria - does it really stimulate the economy and help create jobs - if the answer is no, it does not belong in a so-called stimulus package. Furthermore, the stimulus must include significant direct relief to American workers in the form of payroll tax cuts and programs to help homeowners keep their homes. Finally, we need an end game to this stimulus so that when our economy recovers, these spending programs do not remain permanent and saddle our children with a skyrocketing national debt.
I appreciate the discussions President Obama is having with my Republican colleagues, but the time for talking has come to an end and we must now begin some serious negotiation. But as of yet, Republicans have not been given the opportunity to be involved. The House of Representatives passed a stimulus bill without a single Republican supporting it. In the Senate, the Democrat leadership is trying to jam the existing proposal through regardless of reservations from a number of members. With so much at stake, the last thing we need is partisanship driving our attempts to turn the economy around.
I have long been a fighter against wasteful spending in Washington and long an advocate for a balanced budget -- that will never change. I realize we face extraordinary challenges with our economy today, but that is not an excuse for more irresponsibly from Washington. Yesterday, this published before I had a chance to actually write anything. Let us try this again.

I think he was treated fairly for what he did. A Gold Medalist, a representative of the United States here and abroad should know better than to ever use drugs, let alone do anything illegal. He should actually get more suspension time and lost all his endorsements. It was quaint that his sponsors and the U.S. Swim Team were trying to make an example of him, but that was not enough; he should be brought up on marijuana possession charges.

Don't get me wrong; before this, I liked him. I thought he was a good guy with all the charity things he did. Not any more; he invalidated all that he did before with this. I took down my calendar and am planning on donating it to a museum because that's where all his achievements will ever be. His career is essentially dead to me and many, many people.

Let this be a lesson to all who want to act "youthful": there are people who work harder than this who succeed as well and NEVER touch a drug in their lives. All those scholastic over-achievers, all those other athletes who work tirelessly, all those workaholics, all those volunteers who make their projects perfect. Drugs are never the answer and anyone who tells you conversely is smoking something they shouldn't.

Who does Congress work for?

Anyone who has seen School House Rock or the History Channel series "The Presidents" knows who Congress should be working for (us). It seems lately that Congress has changed its employer from the People to the President.

Ever since the inauguration, press conferences are peppered with remarks paraphrased to "The President wants this and we need to do it" or "We have to grant the President's wish for this to happen swiftly". I am positively sure that he is not their boss.

Separate branches of the goverment do not govern other branches. Checks and balances. Congress makes a bill at the behest of the People, their employers. The Supreme Court reviews the constitutionality of it and the President decides whether or not to sign it into law. If the President vetoes it, Congress must answer back with a strong majority to pass the bill and the veto is overridden.

I know there are law students who read this and I ask you: Is this how it really works or is it purely a theoretical set-up?

How many did not want the first bail-out? How many contacted their Congressmen because of it to say nay? Same with the cabinet positions?
A lot, way more than half the population (I'd say about 80% more or less) did not want the veto and Geithner in particular was not wanted by the people.

As employers and apparently share-holders now, don't you think we should take control of our employees or how about lay off a few hundred positions in the Capitol and replace them with more competent applicants?

Can we trust our government?

I don't think so. The day has come when we know positively that Congress will do as it pleases and the American People, their employers, vote for the least of two evils. Geithner was very qualified to be Treasury Secretary in his career. But the fact that he could not handle his own financial relationship with the government discredits the qualifications. If the Treasury Secretary "forgot" to pay his taxes, so can we. We can't though; it's different for some reason.
A survey was read on the Glenn Beck program yesterday that 90% of Americans did not want the first Bailout. They wrote their Congressmen and communicated this information to them and yet, the bailout still passed with more of our hard earned money flying out of their hands like it was a bottomless pit. What else can we do as Americans? We are at our wits end. The last election voted in the same people that got us into trouble and now it's worse. I don't care which party you belong to, Congress did it. The people who don't livein reality did it.
Please tell me a reason why we should still trust our government, I cannot think of any reason.

Today there was a fuss about the nervous sswearing in yesterday of President Obama. The media says it was Roberts forgeting what to say and the then President-elect finsihing since he was a Law Professor.

President Obama was not a Professor, he was a lecturer. There's a difference. A Professor has a permanent office hour and does small discussion group classes as well as large lecture classes. A Lecturer only does the lectures and maybe a spot on a guest panel as the President has done on numerous occasions.

Chief Justice Roberts was not finished with the phrase before Obama began to repeat it. That is why it became jumbled and a little confusing. After this, the word "faithfully" was moved to then end of the phrase, but that does not invalidate the oath.

Later, Vice-President Biden made fun of the Chief Justice as if he were the nervous one being sworn into the highest office of the land and jumped ahead of the gun. Not appreciable, even to the President who did not smile at this snide remark or laugh as Biden did.

He did not vote for him because he was elected because of party lines. The media is already creating a myth around the man. This is the first offense. If he does nothing to stop this, he is still the man we opposed all 2008 to be our President. The only difference: he is our President now and have to still respect him until he hits three strikes, three offenses.

The attack on Roberts is one last jab at President Bush and is not the change I was "hoping" for.

I was in Archaeology of Montana today and as my professor is a typical college professor, she let us watch the inauguration. I was okay with this because it got us out of an hour of lecture. During the break between the inaugural speech and the worst poem I have ever heard in my life, I overheard what is wrong with my generation.

Some girl whispered to the annoying kid who's not an archaeology major and thinks he knows everything all the while asking stupid questions, "It's the end of an error."

No. Not acceptable. I grew up in the Clinton years and he made a mockery of family values and morality in general as well as tearing down our defenses, BUT he was our President and I learned that he still deserved a sliver of respect.
Former President George Walker Bush was a good President. He made mistakes, everyone does, but he had to clean up the mess that Clinton left. He had to deal with 9/11. There has never been an attack on this country since. We can live our live like it was still September 10th and not know that men and women are fighting and dying for the freedom that this idiot abuses saying that phrase.
I did not vote for President Obama; I do not care for his policies, but he is my President and I will defend him against foreign powers (unless he becomes what he was elected for). He is our new President whether we like it or not and we need to respect him like Bush never was, for the sake of liberal pigs like her.

Happy New Year to all! I hope everyone is sticking to their resolutions if they made them. (UN likes to make them, but never seems to stick to them.) The new year is filled with fear from the Holy Land as well as a promise from Iran to nuke Israel around inaguration time. Iraq is in control of most of the country now and I hope they can keep it under control.
So the year begins as any other year, but it will end differently. It will end differently because we cannot use the glasses with the 0's as eyes anymore as next year is 2010 and there would be a line through your left eye.

As I was saying, happy new year. Maybe this year will be better than last year. All we can do is pray.

Christmas is making a comeback

I hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas. I certainly did. Out there in the city, I noticed many Christmas greetings this year. They are far fewer than last year, but some still did it anyway. I purposely did not mention those that said the dreaded "Happy Holidays" because they should not be mentioned for doing something so tasteless as saying "Happy Holidays". A lot of cashiers in town said Merry Christmas- myself included- and that had an impact on others. Many customers were very pleased that I said it; others simply walked away without a "have a good day". Christmas is making a comeback.
I was forced to watch Suze Orman yesterday and what she said about the economy may be a belssing in disguise. We no longer have the money to just buy out our families so instead we actually have to come together and be a family. No presents (or not nearly as many as the past), no expensive meals, just families being together enjoying each other's company. As she put it, The Good Ole Days- good old fashioned conservative Good Ole Days.

Happy New Year and maybe 2009 will be exactly what we are hoping for. (Despite the unfortunate election of a far-left liberal as our President.)

Winter's Back!

Winter doesn't officially begin until next Sunday, but it didn't leave until June so why should it begin on time? We have had the longest Winter in a long time and it has been the COLDEST year in over a decade. Yes, I said coldest.
Though it has been this cold, before this freezing storm came about, people were saying it was balmy because of global warming. Stupid people are so sure of themselves. Winter lost its pocket watch- yes, he's got a pocket watch because he's cool like that- and so left late and came early. I reccommend everyone watching the Great Global Warming Swindle. It is nearly two hours long, but it is well worth it. Just put the title in a search engine (though not google because they made Stu's Blog third place, jerks!)and it should pop up. Don't pay for it if it asks because there is a place to watch it free and legally. I can't recall where I went, but it was free and legal. It is your duty as Americans and part of the "fairness" doctrine to hear both sides, remember? So take advantage of popping Al Gore's gas bubble- we're not sure what gas, the CO2, the air in his head, too much oxygen from his accent, the oil bubbles, or maybe the fact that he's from Tennessee and isn't a Redneck Republican (I am not poking fun at Tennessee folks, I live in a redneck state too). It could be any or all of them, just like my geography final was.

It is the Christmas season now, officially. It started November 30 with the beginning of Advent. This is the time when we prepare ourselves for the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have this pamphlet called "5 Minutes Daily Advent." Every day there is a reading from the Bible about the coming of Christ and a reflection. Many people don't like to reflect for one reason or another, but this is important for preparing your soul for the coming of the birth of the Savior. It is important not to forget the reason for the season: Jesus.

There would be no superdeals, no Black Friday, no holiday season (sorry my Jewish friends) without our Christian, European background. Sure we have Hannakuh, the only other real holiday this month, but Christianity was the dominant religion in Europe and so it spread to their colonies over here and we have Christmas.

If you don't believe in Christianity, that's fine. You use this sacred holiday as an excuse to spout your own "non-religious, though religious" point of view and discourage public worship of Jesus Christ. Shame on you. In this, I am speaking of atheists and the very name means no god. With that, this is just a good time of year for you because of the good shopping, but not for the vast majority of Americans, so I would appreciate it if you would keep you own ignorant opinions to yourself and let us enjoy this blessed Holyday- by the way that's where the word came from.

As for our commercial Christians, same to you. Christmas isn't about the presents under the tree. Those that trampled the poor Walmart associate are going to hear from Saint Peter when they die for showing how badly we as a society have forgotten what Christmas is about. The gifts don't matter, the spirit is what matters. Family matters, friends matter, neighbors matter, and most of all Church matters.

Those that goes twice a year, this is for you. You are the majority of Christians now. The ones that casually claim the religion, but don't profess their faith, don't act upon it. Most likely, these are the people that would deny the Christ to live, like the Romans had some Christians do. That is a disgrace. A religion is not an accessory, it is who you are, it shapes, molds your very character. You are the ones that let the media shape who you are.

I am sorry, I just have a lot to say about people who try and ruin Christmas. I have a few remedies for all these people I called out here.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and as usual we are going to think about the things we are thankful for. Let us begin at the beginning. It was originally a religious holiday thanking God for the Pilgrims surviving their first year in Plymouth Colony. They shared the meal with those who in large part helped them survive that year: the Indians. They feasted probably for days more like a festival than a banquet that we know it as.

We may not be going home this year, but we may as well, and either way, be thankful for every little thing. It is a Holy Day because God gave us those things that we are thankful for. That's all I think needs to be said since we all know what Thanksgiving is about.

The Christmas Sweater

I finished reading this book last night. It is by Glenn Beck, but is not political in the least. It is a beautiful book that I ask everyone to read. If you want to borrow mine, please ask so I can bring it to the meeting tonight. Let me tell you, it will change your outlook on life.

For those of you who don't like Glenn Beck, this book explains in the back how writing it helped him a lot and he reflects on what inspired certain characters and events in the book. I say give it chance. You never know how it is until you read it.

Conservatism is not dead

Usually, Older folks think that young people are all bright-eyed, naive, and liberal. We are not that and so Conservatism is not dying with the old. We are the America-loving, freedom-loving, realistic, and conservative Youth. We are all of-age, but that doesn't change a thing. We still have to listen to our tenured professors spout their well-intentioned though misguided beliefs and are judged based on our concurredness with them.

What we saw in the election that Conservatism was not dying; instead it was a sign that we need to believe and exemplify our conservatism. We can hide it for a better grade- that's fine, I would do the same- but we cannot cower because we feel outnumbered. We cannot scoff our own beliefs because they are not popular. We need to stand up for them. If this country is worth fighting for, then so are our beliefs and I am not going to hide under everyone's stupid assumption that I am young and liberal. If you ask, I will tell you that I am as conservative as Ronald Reagan, as caring as Theodore Roosevelt, as concerned as Abraham Lincoln, as respectful as Dwight Eisenhower, and as religious as George W. Bush.

There is no hiding that I believe the government is only there to protect us from foreign and domestic danger. In fact, I know we all believe the government is too big for its breeches. In the words of Ronald Reagan, "The isn't government the solution, it's the problem." Now, if you believe that all I said is true, tell me. I figure no one really reads this now that the election is over, but you all receive this in your e-mail so tell me that you are conservative. Tell me that we are not letting our beliefs die. The Republican Party needs to change to match us, not the other way around.

Veteran's Day

First off, I would like to thank all of those who have served our country. Thank you for all you do. This country is free and safe because of you and there is no other way to say it. You are the best Americans in this nation because you are willing to give your families, your jobs, your lives for us, for this country and many of us don't appreiciate it. I say to them that they are disgraces of Americans and don't belong here if they are not willing to accept all that you have given for this country. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you. Te Gratias Agimus.

Today is the 90th Anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War One and I just have to say this. The Paris Peace Conference and Paris Peace Treaty was the biggest mistake in world history. If the French and English didn't have their fingers already in the Turkish and such possessions, there would not be this mess in the Middle East. Honestly, there wouldn't be. And if the French were better fighters (in this case, they were okay) and less of a sore winner, Germany would not have resented it, there would be no Hitler and subsequently no E/W Germany and not a Cold War in the sense that we had it. Nuclear Power was only researched to Bomb Germany and us by them so we wouldn't have that. What I'm trying to say is that this was the War to End All Wars and yet they put their past ideals on how to end a war and it led to probably the deadliest century Man has ever seen.

We mourn this day for the Veterans whom have died and the fact that WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The Entire Middle East Crisis, and the African Crises would never have happened if The Paris Peace Treaty was done right and that did not include a League of Nations. Obviously, the United Nations is not the fine example of diplomacy Wilson had in mind.

Here is a prayer of all our Veterans and please pass it on to others:

God our Father, maker and lover of peace, to know you is to live, and to serve you is to reign.
All our faith is in your saving help; protect those who serve and seek to protect our country from violence and keep them safe from weapons of hate.
We also pray for those who have died in service in protecting our country and upholding our freedom.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.

Ducem Novum Habemus

We have a new leader. It is not the one we wanted, but who had a first choice of our candidate? That is why we lost; most of us were voting against a socialist, not for a conservative. Our candidate was more moderate than he was conservative and now we have a real liberal next January.

We must ask ourselves: Who are we? What do we believe?
If you know what you believe, you are better off than most conservatives in our nation. I know what I believe, but I think it is harder than expected to pin down your exact beliefs. A lot of the time, a belief is relative, depending on a situation that the belief might be employed. if you can pin down your beliefs, please write a post about it. We all need to know what it is we believe so we can be ready in 2010 and for the magnum tempus: 2012.

I believe in Christianity; I am a devout Catholic. I believe in frugality and old-fashioned morals, like our grandparents or great-grandparents had. I am conservative to a fault particularly when it comes to foreign policy and domestic punishment. I say we should do a preemptive strike if a rogue nation has declared it wants to harm us. I believe in the death penalty and (I am my father's daughter on this one)believe it should be enacted right after sentencing since obviously the crime was heinous enough to recieve the death penalty. I believe in the nuclear family and if need be the grandparents living there to. Shuffleboard and such are the traditional grandparent activites. Basically, if was a Guilded Age practice in America (Victorian), I believe it.

Now what about your beliefs? I'd love to hear them.

Pray for America to survive

Today we are at the precipice. Depending on who becomes our president will determine our future. So I ask you to pray with me from Matthew 26: 38-39

Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

We need to keep watch over our country and pray that the Lord does take this cup from us else we prepare for exile in our own land. Please pray this be so that the Lord shall decide but perhaps he will decide in our favor. Pray as hard as you can, with all your might that we may be safe to live another day freely in this land we love so dearly.

Elections

This is not political, I promise you. We all know the election is less than a week away. All the radio and television program sare urging us to wake-up, to open our eyes, before we vote next Tuesday. I am going to say this to you. Think about the consequences of voting the other way. Think about who is better for the country. Don't use your heart. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE YOUR HEART. Voting should not be based on emotion; otherwise, we would have voted Jesus in a long time ago.
It is your civic duty, as a citizen of this great nation, to vote for the betterment of the nation, not your own political beliefs. I do not endorse either candidate; you know which one I prefer (by a long shot), but I do not endorse either one. If I were to do that, I would then be voting with my heart because I support a candidate regardless of what comes after I endorse him. Vote for your country, that is all I can ask of you, please.

We need to show the country that there are still people who believe in moderation, being morally upright, and leading by example. Temperance, The Sequel

I did a piece on temperance a few weeks ago, but now I have some weaponry. I saw a documentary on Prohibition and it mentioned an organization called the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. There is only One October

Baseball, autumn, exams, Halloween, these are all apart of October. I am enraged at the EVIL Boston Red Sox for eliminating the Anaheim Angels in the ALDS October 6, but I still have my Dodgers which still relatively awesome. Theya re the only team that swept! Take that Cubs!
I just took my GRE (Graduate Record Examination). It is mid-term season as well so we are all a little strained and pressed for time. I know, believe me, I know. It will be over soon.
Autumn has just begun, but it seems like it came right after winter than ended in June. I love Autumn though, it is my favorite season of the year. Halloween is almost here. I can't believe we are almost finished with this semester sinceit started only a month ago. How the time flies when you don't have enough.
I am still severely upset about the Red Sox selling their souls to the Devil to beat the Angels, but I will be better when the NLCS begins. They are one step above the Yankees, and the step is so small you always trip over when you walk down that MLB Season path. We'll be seeing you again next October...

This is the first day of October and it is a great day!! Soon Halloween will be here and then Thanksgiving. Fall in the Rockies is so beautiful and reminds us to be grateful that we live here. I think this bailout thing is ridiculous. We should not be rescuing companies that lied about their profits and spent more than they had, like so many Americans have been doing the last few years. This is sickening, materialism is rampant. No wonder we could fall into another Depression.
Glenn Beck (one of the super coolest guys ever) is for bailouts. He says we've past the point of no return. Bailouts now are just a buffer so we don't crash and lose everything. It is a valid point, but I disagree. There is no excuse for these companies like AIG, Fannie Mae, Fannie Mac, and Lehman Brothers. They had been in business longer than fifty years at least; they knew how to handle their financial situation. I think we should do this like ripping off a bandage: quick and fast so the pain goes away faster. We'll get through this, we always have. We just need to let it happen to get through it.

Temperance

I wrote a poem entitled that. Different topic, but same story. In the last week, I have heard more drunken mishaps from my fellow conservative colleagues in the university than anywhere else. Alcohol is rampant and I don't approve. I will not condone in any way the illicit and explicit use of alcohol. If I know that you overindulge in this fire-water, I will lose respect for you. Simple as that. I don't condone "meetings" held in bars or the "kegger" for winning an election. I am sorry, no I'm not, but this is outrageous and indecent and immoral. I beg of you, if you agree with me, please write a comment for this. We need to show a solid front against these backwoods drunkards. I feel like we did this a hundred years ago...

It is September 11th, and we always say it, but I think we should try it in a different language, one that has stood the test of time: Latin. It is also because I am learning Latin, but that is incidental. I suggest saying "Semper Monete" or writing it on your notebook so you "always are reminded" (that's is what it means) and others should be as well. This is not a conservative holiday, it is an American holiday. The day we were punched in the gut and we did not fall to the ground; we got up and hit them where it hurt and despite any person's thoughts, we are winning both wars. We are victorious against terrorism. We are America and will die for our country if need be. We were built on ideals and will die for those same ideals, that is just who we are. God Bless America.

Conservative Ideals

I finsihed reading this book from the library called Simple Social Graces: The Lost Art of Victorian Living. I think it explains not only what is wrong with our society today, it describes how to achieve a functioning, civilized, moral society. It is a good read and inspiring. The call number on it if anyone is interested is: 395 L6997s. I think this will turn the tide in our favor-- if people act on their morals. Don't criticize society for being so immoral and vice-ridden; set an example and live the life you want others to follow. That is what I am doing; it is more focused now because of this book. I encourage you all to read it.

It is rather lonely in this lovely drawing room here. Would someone come in and rest a little while? It has been streesful lately with the RNC and school resuming for autumn. Take a load off your mind and relax! The building is over a hundred years old and creaks, but I busily run about preparing in case it is a visitor. Honestly, it is growing tiresome. I wonder who will be the first person (other than myself) to walk in through those enormous oak double-doors to have respite.

Hurricanes

The hurricanes are at it again in the Gulf Coast, but I couldn't help to think: was the coverage overkill of Gustav? It landed as a catergory two hurricane, nothing compared to catergory five Katrina. I believe all the press was to boast of all the precautions and logististical skill FEMA gained in the past three years. There have been less than ten reported deaths due to Gustav and thankfully those boastful remarks were true about how well everything worked this time. Governor Bobby Jindal did well in easing the fears of Louisianians and calming all down about the minor damage sustained during hurricanes. He deserves the credit for how smoothly and calmly the evacuations went this time.
